Government’s war on property rights: EPA fines man $20 million for building pond

In a stark example of the United Nations’ (UN) attempt to use the excuse of global sustainability to subvert national sovereignty through “soft policy enforcement,” a Wyoming man has been fined $20 million to date by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for having an “illegal pond” on his private property.

Andy Johnson, a father of four girls and a part-time welder and food caterer, diverted a small creek to create his own stock pond for fish. Instead of heralding his actions as inspirational and innovative, the EPA decided to impose a $37,500-a-day fine on him for disobeying its order to restore the area to its natural state. This runs directly against the provisions of the Clean Water Act, which the EPA is citing, since the Act itself provides a clear exemption for stock ponds. Strengthening Mr. Johnson’s case even more is the fact that he also managed to obtain the necessary permits for his pond.

Situations like this truly expose the EPA as nothing more than an incompetent group of bureaucratic lapdogs, who embody the facade of ultimate environmental protectors by day, while being devious bullies pushing ecological tyranny on the rural communities of America at night.
